WEST TIMOR
For betel chewing
Betel chewing (sirih pinang) is very popular amongst the local farmers, man and woman alike. Main components are the betel nut inside the green fruit, "pinang", and the "sirih" , the light green oblong fruit. Chewed with limestone powder, the mix takes on a dark red color, staining teeth and lips.
